If you have one of the older versions of Excel that only supports the ".xls" format (Excel 2000, 2002/XP and 2003), or if you don't have Excel installed, use Microsoft 365 (formerly Office Online) or one of the Microsoft Office alternatives FreeOffice PlanMaker, LibreOffice Calc, Google Sheets and others, which are all free of charge (OpenOffice Calc unfortunately has minor formatting problems when opening our calendars). Also compatible with Microsoft Office for Mac (macOS) and Microsoft Office mobile for iPad/iOS, Android and Windows 10 mobile.
The photo calendar files can easily be modified and adapted to meet your specific needs, then saved and used again at a later stage. How to open and print these templates in Google Sheets
Download the .xlsx file first. Then either drag it into Google Drive, right-click it and choose Open with → Google Sheets, or open Sheets and go to File → Open → Upload. The template keeps its layout and colours, and you can type into the day cells and change the fill colours exactly as you would in Excel.To print from Sheets, go to File → Print, set the orientation to landscape or portrait to match the template you chose, and set Scale to "Fit to page" so the template doesn't spill onto a second sheet. Set Margins to Narrow if you want the grid to fill more of the paper. Because the file sits in Drive, you can share it with a team or a family and everyone works on the same template.
